Dev Blog #4 REDLINEDECENT V0.3.21 STAINED: Weapons Update

Development Update V.0.3.21 STAINED

Hey everyone! I’ve been a bit quiet recently, but I’ve been making steady progress on a few exciting fronts for REDLINEDECENT. For the past few weeks, I’ve been diving deep into learning 3D modeling, and I’m happy to report that the AER-90 Punisher is coming along nicely. The process has been both challenging and rewarding, and I’m excited for what this new level of detail will bring to the game.

But that’s just the beginning. I’m currently working on a massive update focused on the weapons and combat mechanics. This update will introduce five new weapons, all featuring updated bullet physics and fully modeled in 3D. These weapons will add new layers of strategy to gameplay, as each one brings unique characteristics to the battlefield.

One of the most significant changes I’ve implemented is the switch to ray tracing, along with a more physics-based bullet system. Bullets now have realistic drag and gravity, which means projectiles will behave much more like they would in real life. For example, long-range shots will require more skill, as bullets lose speed and drop over distance, adding an extra layer of precision to your shots. This makes sniping and long-range engagements more challenging but also far more satisfying.

I’ve also introduced armor-piercing values for each weapon. Not all weapons will be equally effective against every type of armor. Some bullets will struggle to penetrate heavier armor, while others will punch through with ease. This change makes weapon selection crucial, especially in combat scenarios where your enemies are heavily armored. You’ll have to adapt quickly and choose the right tool for the job, adding more tactical depth to the encounters.

These updates aim to create a more immersive and dynamic combat system, where physics and tactics play a more significant role. Stay tuned for more details on each of the new weapons and how they’ll change the way you approach combat. I’m really excited to see how these systems will evolve as the game progresses.

Thanks for your patience and support as I continue to refine REDLINEDECENT. There’s plenty more in store, so keep an eye out for future updates!
